The Bow Valley SPCA has a No-Kill, No-Cage philosophy

Our mission is to provide our community with a No-Kill, No-Cage Adoption Centre to shelter and care for stray or abandoned dogs and cats in the Bow Valley, and to promote humane attitudes and responsible pet companionship through educational programs to ensure that the number of abandoned dogs and cats does not increase as dramatically as the human population.

The Carla Cumming Sojonky Adoption Centre's design is based on the organization's no-kill philosophy: saving both adaptable (healthy and free of serious behavioural problems) and treatable (medical or behavioural treatment - rehabilitatable) dogs and cats, regardless of age or disability.

The Bow Valley SCPA’s no-kill, no-cage philosophy extends beyond Centre design. Now that we are open – we will be busy generating greater awareness in humane animal treatment and reducing the number of abandoned animals in the Bow Valley through our adoption services, humane education and spay/neuter programs. We will need your help along the way - as volunteers, donors and potential adoptee families. Spread the word and continue the support!
