Lake Louise and MD of Bighorn.

Sonya White - Adoption Centre Manager

Bio: Sonya White - Adoption Centre Manager

Born and raised in Regina, SK, Sonya has always had a deep love for, and connection with, animals. She has a diploma in Early Childhood Education and worked with children for four years before deciding to return to university. She graduated, with Distinction, in 2005, from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Religious Studies. She believes strongly in helping others and volunteered extensively with various organizations in Regina.

In June 2005, she accepted a position with the Regina Humane Society as an Adoption Counsellor. She participated in all aspects of Humane Society life and recieved valuable training there. Her passion for animal rights deepened and she realized that she could be a voice on behalf of abused and homeless animals. In January 2007, she gladly accepted the position as Adoption Centre Manager with the BVSPCA and in February made the transition to Canmore. She is honored to call this community her new home and so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the first no-kill, no-cage Adoption Centre in Canada.
