About Ducky
Hi, I'm Ducky! I got my name because I have a cleft palate that makes me uniquely me, and honestly, I wear it with pride! I'm a striking longhaired beauty with a tender heart and a soft spot for cozy naps. My love language? Chicken dinners, head scratches, and crawling straight into your lap where I can purr my thanks. I may be a bit medically quirky (the staff can tell you more about my medical history), but that just means I've got extra character AND extra appreciation for anyone willing to share their home and maybe a bit of chicken.
I'm approaching my senior years, but I'm hoping to spend my retirement enjoying the finer things in life like sipping water straight from the tap, basking in sunbeams, and curling up in your lap for hours. If you're looking for a sweet, soulful companion with snuggles to spare, this Ducky is ready to waddle right into your heart.
Dog-friendly: Untested
Cat-friendly: Yes
Kid-friendly: Yes
Do I Need Special Care?: I have a cleft palate and a small hole in the roof of my mouth. I underwent several procedures to try to repair it, but unfortunately none were successful. There is a low risk that food could become trapped in the opening, but I've been living with it without any complications. It doesn't cause me any pain; the only noticeable effect is a bit of a snorty sound when I'm eating wet food or drinking water, but otherwise it doesn't bother me at all.
