About Morris

We are pleased to announce that Morris was adopted on April 6, 2024
My name is Morris. Are you ready for my heartbreak tale? I am an older gent and I was living with my best friend (the human kind). Unfortunately, he passed away. It caught me quite off guard and I miss him a lot. Luckily, he has some good friends in town who put in a solid effort to get me somewhere safe (I didn't make it easy on them...I didn't want to leave my home). Now that I am at the SPCA I am starting to feel better. When I first arrived, I could be standoffish and the staff referred to me as a "grumpy old man," but I've really come around! I still like to keep you on your toes and I definitely have a streak of cattitude, but underneath my rough and tough exterior I am a loving guy who wants to be part of the action. I am very chatty, with lots of stories to tell you, and will follow the people that I trust around asking for pets with my loud meow. I have even become playful as I've settled in - don't let my age fool you, I'm still a young chap at heart and will race around after mouse toys or roll around like crazy on a catnip mat. I have recently been diagnosed with probably IBD, and so I am on a special diet and potentially lifelong medications to control the symptoms. My new adopter will need to be okay with managing this disorder, and keeping up with testing to monitor the progression of this disease as I age. I would love a quiet home with someone to love again, that can continue to help me to trust again after trauma and heartbreak. I'm a simple cat looking for a peaceful life.

Do I Need Special Care?: Yes, I have a history of IBDs. I will need a specialized diet and daily medication.
