We are pleased to announce that Stella was adopted on May 20, 2023

After nearly a year, we're so thrilled to report that Stella has found a forever home to call her own. Following a period of instability in her life, Stella arrived to us with her trust in humans broken. It took many months to be able to approach Stella without her lashing out due to fear, and even longer to be able to pet her. Slowly but surely she began to trust us though, and blossomed into a loving lap cat with the people that she knew and trusted. However, Stella was still timid with most strangers, and so she was passed over time and time again despite how loving we knew she could be. Until along came her person! Having adopted a cat with a similar (if not more scared) demeanor to Stella from us a few years back, we knew that this was an amazing home for Stella that would really understand and cater to her needs. Stella's new adopter is very familiar with the patience and compassion that these mistrustful kitties need to thrive, and after only a few days in her new home has reported that she is already allowing pets and venturing outside her hidey holes more and more. We know she'll be a lap kitty in no time at all!

Hello, I'm Stella. I am going to need a very special home. One that is quiet and with some humans who have lots of patience. I need a family who will love me for me, and understand that I haven't had the most stable life so far. I have moved around and thus my trust in humans isn't quite there yet. I prefer my space for now, but with the right people I will feel more inclined to be myself. For now, I mostly enjoy hiding spots and a nice meal and litter box to fulfil my needs. I need to feel safe in order to be your companion, but I will gladly live quietly amongst you until that happens. Recently I have become more social and brave, and have even sat on the laps of some of the staff members that I know the best, and am happy to receive chin scratches and gentle affection. Cats are negotiable and may help me build confidence, but I get overwhelmed by cats that don't give me my space. I hope you will give me a chance!
