About Trooper

We are pleased to announce that Trooper was adopted on April 11, 2026
True to his name, Trooper has really survived and thrived throughout his short life so far! Suffering a neck wound before coming to the Bow Valley SPCA, and recovering beautifully with his loving personality completely intact, he won over his new people with his soft “I love you instantly” gaze and absolute lover-boy charm. He’s off across the country on his next big adventure, to settle in to his ne forever home and accept all the love and adoration he deserves for the rest of his days!
My name is Trooper, and I earned it! I healed from a serious neck injury with a brave spirit and a gentle heart. My fur still needs to grow back, but I'm ready to put that chapter behind me, and trade in vet visits and wound care for toys, treats, and long cuddle sessions. I might seem a little shy at first but give me a moment and I'll show you my true personality: affectionate, curious, and always ready to play. I love exploring, chasing toys, and then flopping down next to you for some well-earned snuggles. Life has thrown me some challenges, but I'm all about moving forward. If you're looking for a soft, sweet companion who just wants to be cherished, I'd love to meet you!

Dog-friendly: Untested
Cat-friendly: Yes
Kid-friendly: Yes
Do I Need Special Care?: No. You'll notice the fur on my neck hasn't fully grown back, and the area of skin on my neck is still a bit pink. My neck laceration has fully closed after months of care, but the skin still needs time to fully heal and for my fur to grow back. No further care is needed at this time, just patience and monitoring. My fur may grow back completely, or I may always have some scarring/hair loss. I hope you don't think it detracts from how absolutely adorable I am!
