About Walter

We are pleased to announce that Walter was adopted on Nov. 9, 2024
Walter and Cole came to us together, and very much enjoyed one another's company. Whenever Walter came down from his nap spot, Cole would come out from his safe hiding spot and glue himself to Walter's side. Due to Walter's health challenges, we knew that he would likely take longer to be adopted than young Cole. So you can imagine how absolutely thrilled we were when a couple expressed interest in taking them both home! We are so happy that these two get to live their happily-ever-after out together, and so excited for the family that opened their hearts to the pair.
Hi there, I'm Walter! I'm a distinguished older gentleman looking for a calm and cozy retirement home to kick back and live the good life. I may look a little rough around the edges, but it's because I've lived a hard life. Rest assured, though I may have a scrappy-looking exterior, I'm a big ol' softie who craves nothing more than the simple pleasures of a warm home and full belly, and with a few moments of a gentle chin scratch, you'll get my rumbly purr going. I hope that someone might fall in love with my gentle eyes, hearty disposition, and fluffy white whiskers. I'm just so grateful to be shown kindness, and promise to repay whoever gives me a home with unconditional love and old-man cat charm!

Dog-friendly: Untested, likely okay with slow introductions
Cat-friendly: Yes
Kid-friendly: Untested, likely yes
Do I Need Special Care?: Yes. I am currently on a trial of a hypoallergenic diet and oral medication to treat suspected allergies which manifest as itchy ears. My new home should continue with this regimen with a plan to follow up with a veterinarian in the future to find the best course of treatment to manage these symptoms. I was also diagnosed with a heart murmur. At this time, I am not on any medication for this, but my future adopter should continue to monitor the health of my heart as I age.
