About Zoomie
Hi there, I'm Zoomie! I'm a sweet senior lady who's one half of a bonded pair. Along with my best friend Ziggie, we're looking for a cozy retirement home to live out our golden years filled with snuggles, snuggles, and more snuggles! When I arrived to the BVSPCA, I had some health complications to take care of (read more below for details), but the folks at the shelter got me all sorted, and now I'm feeling like a spring chicken! I can often be spotted curled up in bed with my bestie Ziggie, munching on a snack, or loafing on my cat tree watching the world go by. I love affection from people, and combined with my striking markings, and sweet personality, I hope I'll find a lovely home to share with Ziggie for many years to come!
Dog-friendly: Untested, likely ok with calm dogs
Cat-friendly: Yes, additional considerations due to chronic upper respiratory symptoms
Kid-friendly: Yes
Do I Need Special Care?: I have chronic respiratory symptoms, which have persisted for several months. As typical treatments (antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications etc.) have not resolved my symptoms, vets have deemed this a chronic condition. Chest x-rays showed no abnormalities with my lungs. My adopters can manage these symptoms by increasing humidity, keeping up with a high quality diet, and regular vet visits if symptoms change. In a stable home, these symptoms may decrease. I had severe dental disease, so I have full-mouth extractions and I feel so much better now! Despite having no teeth, I can still eat kibble and wet food as normal. I had a lumpectomy on my chest. Results determined this lump to be a benign (non-cancerous) mammary adenoma. No further care is needed.
