2nd Annual Family Day Tour: A Big Success

The Bow Valley SPCA celebrated its 2nd Annual Family Day on Monday Feb 20. The celebration was well attended by families who were able to tour the facility, meet the resident animals, and learn about Pet Therapy and Open Paws Training. Families visited cats in their chalets learning about Cat Language, and dogs in Dog Town learning about reward training.
Good manners were displayed by all the kids meeting Richard Huffer and Baillie, a four-year old Tri-Colour Border Collie working with Canada Task Force 2. Baillie and Richard captured their audience demonstrating search and rescue skills and answering questions.
Tyler McClaron from Wild Smart was well equipped with props to educate the importance of respecting and avoiding encounters with Wild Life.
Resident dogs and cats enjoyed being with families for an afternoon.
