Brain Games For Dogs – For Sale – all proceeds to go to BVSPCA

Problem solving or brain games are not only fun to play with and for your dog. They also assist your dog to focus, pay attention and listen. Time spent teaching and then playing this game is great relationship building and brain training.
Basic instructions on how to introduce the game to your dog and how to progress to more complicated play can be found by following this link http://youtu.be/7iLYKRkz9g4
A few things to keep in mind:
Always play this game with your dog. Do not leave them unattended with the board or the pegs. Pack up the game and put it away when you are finished playing
The dog must not play with the pegs. Have them drop it or leave it (good time to practice cues).
Use very small treats – a little bit goes a long way.
Let the dog see you put the treats under the pegs.
You may want to give the game a name – such as play pull – and use that name whenever you are going to play the game. As well use the game time as time to practice your other cues – sit, stay, wait, leave it, take it, drop it.
Start with the basics and get your dog hooked, then make it more difficult.
This peg and board game is adapted from Dog Smart Dog Activity Toys by Nina Ottosson of Sweden. All proceeds from the sale of this game go to support of the BVSPCA. The pizza boxes were graciously provided by Ducks Sports Bar and Grill, 205 3 Avenue Cochrane Alberta (403)932-5959. The supplies for the games, the design and the labor for construction were donated by Susan Flaherty of Dog Matters (www.dog-matters.ca)
