Ezra: Her Backstory, Her Pups on Day 1, and the Pups on Adoption Day

Ezra's Backstory
Ezra came to us from a Northern Saskatchewan community where people were literally shooting stray dogs as part of a "cull". She, along with three others from the community, were sent to the Bow Valley SPCA after being saved from an ugly outcome. Much to our surprise, Ezra had much more to give! On August 10th, she gave birth to 11 adorable puppies.
We were so happy to be able to give these wonderful animals a chance and thanks to the hard work of staff and volunteers, Ezra and her puppies faced a bright future. On October 21, they were all adopted to amazing homes where they will give their families love and adoration for the rest of their lives.
Pups on Day 1
A few photos of Ezra and her 11 pups--one day after delivery. The pups were in the basket for a few minutes while their bedding was changed and Ezra took a bathroom break. She (Ezra) had human company all day long as volunteers came and sat with her. The volunteers job was to make sure everyone got to a feeding station during their shift. So far, all of the pups are doing well and gaining weight--even Bob, the smallest pup.
