Ladies Day Out

The Bow Valley SPCA had the pleasure of a visit from the Seniors’ Day Group. Over tea and cupcakes, the ladies were paid a visit by Blake, a 9-year-old Shepherd Cross and two resident puppies. Blake arrived at BVSPCA shortly after the facility opened,10 years ago, injured and in need of surgery.  After surgery to repair his hip joint he was adopted by Niki Lepage and Paul Vadalin, guides in the valley.  Blake went on to become a Search and Rescue Dog and since retiring is now a volunteer with Niki at BVSPCA.  Together they help to socialize and comfort dogs.  Who wouldn't love cuddling two 16-week-old Husky/Lab Cross puppies, Annie and Shirley?  Hearing stories on the history of dogs and enjoying seeing the cats in their chalets climbing on their high perches made for a most enjoyable outing.
