Our new web site has been designed by Blue Hut Technology through the generous funding support from The Calgary Foundation.  There is a lot to like about this from the user's viewpoint and even more to like from the view of site maintenence and updates (it is built to allow changes through simple menu commands).

For users there are some very nice/cool new features.

  1. For any person/family that is interested in a dog or cat but doesn't see exactly the one they want, there is a feature that will allow them to get updates one a week about any new animals or adoptions.  The image on the right shows where to click to get the weekly update.  Besides being useful for people interested in getting a dog or cat, it is a great way to keep up with the adoptions as well as the new animals coming into the Carla Cumming Sojonky Adoption Centre.
  2. The  image below shows a whole new approach to seeing the individual dogs and cats.  We can now show multiple images of an dog or cat and if you click on them they will enlarge so you can have a great view.  We can also show video clips of each dog and cat so that you can actually see them in action.  Now visitors can make comments about each animal allowing for questions to be asked and answers provided by people who know the dog or cat.title=
  3. We have a new Q&A section.  You can ask any pet related question and we will do our best to get an answer and publish it withing 3 working days (usually sooner). Even better, you can post your own comments allowing for a multi-logue about any specific issue.title=
  4. At last we have the ability to put up our training plans for each dog (or cat, if the need arises) and volunteers can log on (username and password will be required) to write up their activities with a particular dog they are working with and to see the latest activities by other volunteers working with the dog.  In this way progress can be tracked and any adopter can see what work has been done.title=
  5. Last, and certainly not least, is an improved more modernistic look.  If you are looking for a particular type of anumal you can now select either dogs or cats and either male of female and only those that meet the criteria will show up for viewing.title= Navigation of the site is better, the ability to link with our YouTube, Facebook and Twitter accounts is simple and obvious, and on all pages, except the adoption pages, a new dog or cat that is awaiting adoption shows up (random order) so that you can some of the dogs and cats that are available.
