Wild Smart Teaches: Safety With Your Dog On The Trails In The Mountains

On September 13th Tyler McClaron Program Director, Wild Smart visited Carla Cumming Sojonky Adoption Centre, and provided an education session for Open Paws Team Leaders and Volunteers; Safety With Your Dog On The Trails In The Mountains. Tyler taught the importance of preventative measures to avoid a WildLife encounter and demonstrated the use of Bear Spray as a determent. The team learned the importance of keeping yourself safe with the added variable of not knowing how your dog would react if faced with a wild life encounter. To minimize putting anyone in jeopardy in National Parks a dog must be on a three-metre or ten-foot leash accompanied by a person.
