We are pleased to announce that Sparta was adopted on Dec. 7, 2020

Sparta has found a fur-ever home that understands and respects her fear of people, and we are so happy for this lady to get a home that will love her (from a distance)! Even better, she went home with Vinnie, so these two will never have to be without one another! We could not be more thrilled for this special pair of senior kitties! Reportedly, Sparta even got brave enough to come into bed with her new owner on her first night home! Goes to show how far a little love and understanding can go with rescue animals!

I'm Sparta! I recently came to the shelter with Vinnie. We were actually residents here long long ago, but now I'm back to look for a new home. I'll be honest with you, I'm very distrustful of humans and find this shelter situation very scary, so I come across as pretty grumpy when you first meet me. I don't like any sort of commotion or chaos, and this shelter seems to be full of people coming and going, which I'm finding pretty stressful! What I would really like is a quiet home with somebody that understands that I'm quite scared of people, and is willing to respect that I'm an older girl that has lived like this for a long time. That said, I just need somebody to take a chance on me and give me a good home into my retirement years regardless of my trust issues!
