About Heike

We are pleased to announce that Heike was adopted on Aug. 29, 2022
My name is Heike (pronounced Hi-kuh) and I came to the SPCA from a hoarding situation with my friends Freckles and Patches. I am the most timid of the three of us, but I am an absolute sweetheart who loves gentle affection. I missed out on some socialization during my puppy years, so I am making up for it now and am starting to get used to people now that I know how loving they are! I am much more likely to approach you for a sniff and an ear rub if you are cuddling one of my buddies. Due to this I would definitely like a home with a second dog! I am also much more confident walking on leash (something new to me) if I have a confident buddy to follow and to show me I'm safe from all the spooky loud noises in the world. We've all had a bit of a hectic go at life thus far, so a quiet home with someone who is gentle and patient would be my cup of tea! With people I know and trust, I transform into a total lap dog, and would love nothing more than to snooze away the day in your arms getting belly rubs. I am still young and excited and eager to go explore the mountains here - hiking, biking and running seem like it could be a mighty good time!
