About Percival
Hey, I'm Percy! A sweet little guy with a whole lot of charm. People say I have striking good looks (like someone took a best-in-show German Shepherd and shrunk him down to a third of the size) and a gentle, discerning nature that makes me pretty irresistible. I arrived semi-feral and am still learning to trust new people and make sense of this big, wide world, but every day I'm getting braver. Once I decide you're a safe and trustworthy friend, I've learned that pets are actually pretty good, and I waste no time climbing into your lap for a cuddle or rolling over for a belly rub. Good thing I'm the perfect lap-dog size!
I also have a wicked playful side, and I'll transform into a bouncy ball of joy, bunny-hopping after a ball and play-bowing to ask you to join in! When I'm feeling confident, I'm a total goofball in the best way. I still take time to warm up to new people and may shy away from being touched at first (especially with those big, tall, deep-voiced humans they call "men") but beneath my timid shell is a puppy-like dog waiting to flourish. I've discovered a joy of hiking, enjoy bouncing around with other dogs, and don't seem to mind the cat in my foster home - although I sometimes need reminding that cats don't always appreciate when I bark at them.
With time, consistency, and plenty of patience, I know I'll grow into the loyal, wonderful companion I'm meant to be. I'm hoping to find people who are ready to move at my pace, earn my trust, and help me keep building up that confidence.
