Market Vendor FAQ
-
Who can apply?
We encourage applications from all artists, crafters, musicians, and vendors of all genres, mediums, and talents!
You do not have to be a pet-artist or pet-focused to become a vendor. If you are an artist who works by commission, we would love to have you join us as well!
We are hoping to showcase local talent and handmade product!
-
Is there a fee?
For approved vendors there is a non-refundable $25 table fee. Payment is due by June 21, 2025.
There is no further cost to be a vendor. All sales and commissions a vendor makes during the market belong fully to the vendor/artist.
-
I have limited product, but take commissions. Can I still apply?
Yes! Artists who are willing to take commissions are encouraged to apply.
If you are approved as a vendor we suggest you bring:
- A portfolio of your work or way to digitally display your talent
- Have a work-in-progress on site so visitors can see you in action
- Have a method of connecting with you (business card, QR code, etc.).
-
I'm not a pet artist, can I still apply?
Yes! We encourage all artists and vendors of all mediums to apply. You do not have to be pet focused or have pet product/artwork.
-
What do I need to bring?
The BVSCPA will provide a table for the vendor. The vendor/artist is responsible for:
- Table decorations and/or displays
- Product to sell, samples, or a portfolio (if commission based)
- Promotional material (business cards, brochures, posters, etc).
- Cash float & payment machine (vendors are responsible for their own payment processing)
- Extension cord if you require electrical outlets
-
Is there access to power and/or internet?
Internet connection is available to vendors.
There are limited outdoor electrical outlets. Please let us know if your application if you require connection. You will be required to bring your own extension cords, etc.
There is no access to BVSPCA computer or payment systems.
-
Will you promote vendors prior to the market?
Yes! One of our goals with the market is to give back to the community. As such, we will be promoting attending vendors on our website and social media channels. Vendors are encouraged to announce their attendance and share on their own channels.
Further details on tagging us for the event will be given to approved vendors.
-
What is your Cancellation Policy?
Once a vendor has been approved and the table fee received, there is no refund for cancellations*. If an applicant needs to withdraw their application or attendance before payment has been received, they are able to do so at no cost.
*Emergencies and unforeseen circumstances will be given individual consideration
-
Can I donate my product to the BVSPCA or leave what I don't sell?
Unfortunately, due to limited space at our Centre we are unable to accept product/art donations or retain items that are left after the market.
Vendors are responsible for both transporting their product to and from the market.
-
Can I make monetary donations to the BVSPCA?
Please note that there is no requirement, obligation, or expectation for vendors to donate back to the BVSPCA. All sales and commissions belong entirely to the vendor/artist.
If you would like to make a donation during your attendance at the market or later, we are very grateful. Tax receipts can be provided for personal donations of $20 or more. Sales advertised as returning to the BVSPCA do not receive a tax receipt.
-
Do I need licenses to attend?
Vendors are required to know the licenses, insurances, and requirements for their product or business and make sure they are in proper order. By filling out the application form, vendors are certifying they have the appropriate documentation and licensing, and full legal rights to sell and distribute their product.
The BVSPCA is not liable for any infringement or neglect a vendors part to obey copyright, creative laws, or bylaws.
