About Beau

Hi there! I'm Beau. My name means "beautiful" in French, and while I hate to brag, I think my face and striking markings speak for themselves. I'm a sensitive soul looking for a special home that understands that the world can feel a little overwhelming to me sometimes, and because of that, I need time and patience when it comes to new people, places, and experiences. I need time to warm up, but once I decide you're safe and trustworthy, my true personality shines through, and trust me, I'm a whole lot of fun!

Underneath my cautious exterior is a goofy, playful guy with some serious zoomie potential. I could happily chase a toy for hours before curling up beside you for cuddles... or as close as physically possible, if you'll allow it. I already know my basic commands, appear to be house-trained, and am currently working on polishing up my leash manners.

As I settle into a new home, positive reinforcement training and gradual, gentle exposure to the things that make me nervous will help me build confidence and discover that the world isn't such a scary place after all. I'm looking for a quiet, patient family that will let me move at my own pace. The people who give me that chance will get to watch something pretty special: a nervous dog slowly discovering that the world isn't quite as scary as he once thought. And in return, they'll gain a loyal companion with a silly streak, a big heart, and a growing collection of happy zoomies.

My dream home includes plenty of toys, cozy places to nap, people I can trust, and the stability I've been craving. So, what do you say? Could you be the person who helps me write my happily-ever-after?

Dog-friendly: Mixed reactions, single-dog household recommended at this time.
Cat-friendly: No.
Kid-friendly: Untested, dog-savvy older kids recommended due to fearful behaviours observed around new people.
Do I Need Special Care?: I have some food sensitivities and am on a special diet. I am not on allergy medications at this time.
