Bedard

Hey there, the name's Bedard, nice to meet ya! I've travelled all the way from the NWT to find a great forever home here in the Rockies. Despite being a real gem, I wasn't having any luck finding a home up north, so I'm hoping a new set of eyes might help me find my forever home. I am young, active, and high energy, and looking for a home that is familiar with the typical traits of Shepherd mixes. I'd love some people that want to harness all my drive and energy into positive channels! I love going for walks or hikes (I'm a great trail dog!), but I do have a tough time keeping my cool when I see other dogs. I am working hard on being more neutral around other dogs so I can coexist peacefully around them, but I will need to be the only furry friend in your life at this time, and dog parks won't be for me. I am looking for adopters that understand my anxious, uncertain tendencies, and will continue helping me to feel safe around other dogs. After a nice stroll to burn off some of my energy, I'm happy to hang outside in the backyard or settle in for an afternoon snooze. Being a shepherd/husky mix, I am very clever and eager to please, so I'd love to learn some new skills or tricks to keep my brain busy. I'm working on placement training to help teach me to relax, and I'm an agility superstar (not to brag). I can get over-excited in some situations, so I am learning to be gentle with my mouth when I get riled up playing and zooming around. Cats will be a definite no go - they're waaay too fun to pounce and bark at! I've heard there are lots of outdoorsy people out here, so I'll fit right in and would love to try out some Rocky Mountain adventuring! I'm a joyful, handsome, and loving dog who can't wait to find a home at long last! Maybe I could come home with you?
