Buckwheat

Hey! I'm Buckwheat (Buck for short), and I'm so excited to meet you! I'm a happy-go-lucky, curious and friendly Husky/Pitbull mix. I came to the SPCA through no fault of my own, and I'm looking for a loving home where I can be a treasured part of the family. I have the most striking blue eyes, but I'm not a serious guy - in fact I'm a real goofball who makes some pretty silly faces! I'm full of wiggles and love, and while I'm down for a snuggle if you are, I can also be independent doing my own thing which can be nice if you want some time to yourself. I walk great on leash, and there is nothing (and I mean NOTHING) that I love more in the world that a chew toy to gnaw on! I am what they'd call a super-chewer, so no stuffed toys for me. I thought they were made for shredding, but apparently not? The good news is I'm crate trained, and so I am happy in a crate when you leave the house. When you're home, I'd love some super chewer toys and puzzle toys to keep me from getting bored and creating my own fun. I got to try out some agility here at the shelter, and I am a natural, so it might be fun to continue this, or another dog sport, in my new home! I can have a sensitive stomach, but after some trial and error, we've found a diet that is working well. It will make both our lives much easier if I stay on this diet long-term to avoid future flare ups. I am choosy about my canine friends, so while I've made a couple dog friends here at the shelter that I like to wrestle and bounce around with, off-leash dog parks won't be for me, at least for now. I would do well as the only animal in the home, but I might like to have a doggie companion, I'll just need to meet them first to see if we'll be buds. Cats seem like they might be fun to chase, so I'll do best with a home without. If you're looking for an all-around great dog who's smart, snuggly, and brave and adventurous, look no further!
