About Solomon
We are pleased to announce that Solomon was adopted on May 30, 2024
I am part of a bonded pair, meaning I must be adopted together with Carli. The adoption fee of the second cat in a bonded pair is 50% off!
Hey there! I'm a transfer from a rescue in Saskatchewan, where I was trapped after being found feral. While it took me a while to come around, I have since turned into a big squishy marshmallow, who loves gentle affection and napping in sunbeams. My transformation was really amazing, and now I'm in the Rocky Meowtains hoping I can find a great family to love me! I am a mediator and peacekeeper between other cats, and a real big suck with people. I have recently been reunited with Carli, my bonded pair, who just arrived from Saskatchewan. I did test positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which is a virus that sits dormant in a cat and can cause immune suppression. The staff can tell you more about what it means to be FIV positive, but what you do need to know is that FIV positive cats can live long and healthy lives, especially with preventative vet checks to keep me feeling tip top. Generally, FIV is only spread to other cats through deep wounds (biting or mating) so depending on the adopters comfort level I may be okay to live in a home with other cats (I love them!), but the staff recommend adopters consult with their veterinarian on preventative measures to ensure the safety of the resident cat in the home. I am a gentle giant, and I can't wait to find a chill home with my other half, Carli!
Dog-friendly: Untested
Cat-friendly: Yes (additional considerations due to being FIV positive), bonded pair with Carli
Kid-friendly: Untested, likely yes
Do I Need Special Care?: Yes, I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). I will need regular veterinary visits to make sure I am staying healthy.
Interested?! Please fill out our adoption application and submit to adopt@bowvalleyspca.org. Upon approval you will be contacted to arrange an appointment time! You are also welcome to come visit me at the Centre during public visiting hours Wednesday-Saturday 12:00-4:00pm without an appointment.
